Give the place a logic

Ask what the people in a world need, what they value and how they move through a day. Architecture, sound and objects become more convincing when they answer those questions. A striking image opens the door; a consistent logic gives you a reason to stay.

Let detail carry meaning

A worn path suggests repetition. A light in a window suggests someone is still awake. Scale changes how safe or exposed a person feels. Small decisions can communicate a great deal without a paragraph of explanation.

Separate invention from evidence

A fictional world gives us room to imagine. A place based on history asks for sources, careful interpretation and visible uncertainty. Cultural knowledge belongs to people and communities; a visual treatment does not turn it into exclusive ownership.

Build an accessible way in

Not everyone arrives with a headset or a powerful device. A browser experiment, a written account and a set of still images can each offer a meaningful way into the same idea.
